Repressions against the Union of Poles have been stepped up in Belarus. People who are fighting for a right to remain an independent organisation, are subject to arrests, criminal cases are opened against them, libelous articles in the state-run press are published, Polish Houses owned by them are confiscated all over the country. The total lawlessness against the Union of Poles is not the only incident of repressions. It is a general years-long policy of Lukashenka’s regime which is aimed at eradication of rights and freedoms of a person in Belarus. Attempts to “reform” the dictator produce the opposite result, which is dangerous for us and for Europe.
