On the eve of the devaluation in 2009, the Belarusian governor promised the same thing.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka declares that there are no plans for devaluation of the Belarusian ruble, and calls upon the population of Belarus to be careful with the transfer of their savings into US dollars, “Interfax” informs.

We do not plan any devaluation”, - Lukashenka said on Friday, communicating with the residents of Barysau.

At the same time he stressed that corridor fluctuations of the Belarusian ruble will be voiced to Belarusian people.

According to the Belarusian leader, the noise surrounding the alleged devaluation was raised by “quacks who rush for the presidency, for them, the worse it is in the country, the better”.

Lukashenka also called on Belarusians to be careful with the transfer of their savings into U.S. dollars.

“Be careful with the dollar. I warned you” - he said, recalling the policy of the United States to produce more dollar bills, because of which the dollar depreciates.

Meanwhile, the governor stressed, in Belarus “people rushed to buy dollars and carry them to banks”. “Keep in mind that you can lose on that dollar. All (in the world - IF) dump the dollar, and you are buying it”- Lukashenka said.

“You can arrange a devaluation if you buy foreign currency”, - he continued.

In this regard, he urged people “to behave calmly”, and stressed that “the economy (of Belarus - IF) starts to work”, get out of the crisis.

“Keep calm: they just need to shake up people before the election, take it easy with this devaluation”, - added the governor.

At the same time he stressed that “in this crisis year we managed to add reserves in gold, we will open cellars and show you the gold, which we gained”, - added Lukashenka.

Recall that in December of 2008 the Belarusian dictator also asserted that the devaluation would not happen. But on January, 2, 2009 the Belarusian ruble depreciated by 20%.
